APA Sports Physiotherapist
Clinical Pilates Practitioner
B. Physio (Hons), M. Physio (Sports)
OPSMC since 2003

Katrina Salisbury (nee Macdonald) is an APA Titled Sports Physiotherapist. She worked at the 2006 Commonwealth Games within the Australian Team Medical Headquarters and travelled to the 2008 Beijing Olympics as the physiotherapist for the Bronze medal winning Australian Women’s Softball Team.

Katrina has a special interest in spinal, pelvic, hip, groin and knee injuries. As a qualified Clinical Pilates Practitioner, Katrina specialises in developing individualised core-stability and exercise-based rehabilitation programs that aim to achieve optimal return to sport and daily activities after injury as well as injury-prevention. She is experienced in conducting real-time ultrasound assessments to help ensure correct core-stabilising muscles are being recruited. A large emphasis is placed on patient education and providing patients with strategies to self-manage their condition. Katrina combines this with a strong hands-on approach using soft-tissue massage, dry-needling, joint mobilisation and manipulation.

Katrina works full-time at OPSMC and is passionate about providing the highest quality of care for all her patients – from elite athletes to office workers, those ‘young at heart’ to adolescents. Outside of work, Katrina keeps fit with boxing, Pilates and running, and loves skiing at any opportunity.
