Katherine Shone started working in private practice after completing a Bachelor degree in Nutrition & Dietetics at Deakin University. Prior to studying dietetics she completed an Arts & Sciences degree, majoring in psychology and criminology at the University of Melbourne. In 2009 she completed Dr Rick Kausman’s “If Not Dieting” course and regularly utilises the approach to assist clients reach their most healthy weight without feeling deprived or losing quality of life. In 2010 she became a Diabetes Life Program facilitator allowing her to run nutrition and lifestyle programs to assist participants reduce their risks of type 2 diabetes.

Within the clinical setting, Katherine works with patients to manage conditions like diabetes, elevated cholesterol, elevated blood pressure and obesity. She has a special interest working with clients to manage Fructose Malabsorption, Lactose Intolerance, Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Coeliac Disease.

Her passion in sports nutrition stems from a personal involvement in endurance events including Ironman, marathon and ultra-marathons. She has experience working with short course and long course triathletes, marathoners, ultra-marathoners, cyclists, footballers, boxers, rowers, netballers, tennis players and swimmers. Along with individual consultations, Katherine enjoys conducting group based nutrition seminars with local sporting clubs and teams.
