  • Sports medicine is one of the specialities of Mark's practice. He provides advice and treatment to various sporting clubs, and has been the foot and ankle specialist to the Australian Open tennis tournament and part of the medical staff for the Rugby World Cup. The practice also provides treatment for members of the National Athletics team and the Australian Ballet School.

  • Julian’s research interests include anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction: surgical technique, rehabilitation, recovery of function and knee replacement surgery: posterior cruciate ligament function, unicompartmental versus total joint replacement and the recovery of function. He also specialises in surgery for patellar instability.

  • Hayden specialises in surgery of the knee. He performs over 1,200 procedures per year and is an expert in the traditional fields of arthroscopy, reconstruction and knee replacement surgery. He is also at the forefront of newer techniques, including autologous cartilage implantation and meniscal replacement, and has developed a new minimally invasive knee replacement.

Mr. Tim Whitehead is an Australian and internationally trained Orthopaedic Surgeon with a specific interest in all aspects of knee surgery. After completing his medical degree at the University of Melbourne, he obtained a fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in 2003.

Tim recently returned from Canada, where he successfully completed two highly regarded Orthopaedic Knee and Sports Medicine Fellowships. He spent 12 months in London at the University of Western Ontario where he trained with Dr Peter Fowler at the Fowler Kennedy Sports Medicine Centre. During this period, he received specific training in arthroscopic knee surgery, ligament reconstruction and complex knee procedures including re-alignment osteotomy. In addition, he spent a further 12 months in Ottawa, at the University of Ottawa, where he trained with Dr Donald Johnson. While in Ottawa, apart from receiving excellent clinical training, he became actively involved in academic research and presented several papers at international meetings.

Since returning to Melbourne, Tim has commenced private practice at LaTrobe University Medical Centre in Bundoora and Vimy House Private Hospital in Kew. In addition, he has commenced weekly consulting sessions at Olympic Park Sports Medicine Centre and is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Austin Hospital in Heidelberg. He is a member of a variety of national and international Orthopaedic associations including the Australian Orthopaedic Association, American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy Association of North America, Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association and ISAKOS.
