Specialist Sports Physiotherapist
Master of Physiotherapy (MS), Master Physio (Research), APA Sports Physiotherapist, F.A.C.P. Henry Wajswelner returns to OPSMC after working at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra, where he completed his ACP Fellowship exams and became a Specialist in Sports Physiotherapy. He is also a qualified Manipulative Therapist and APA Sports Physiotherapist, with a particular interest in Rowing Injuries, back and neck pain, shoulder, hip and knee pain and rehabilitation. He has Level 4 Clinical Pilates training and is completing a Clinical Doctorate in Physiotherapy at the University of Melbourne. Henry’s hands-on skills have been called upon at the highest level. He has been on the Australian Olympic Team and has been to several World Championship events looking after our elite athletes with Rowing as his primary responsibility. At the AIS he treated injuries in elite athletes in a wide variety of sports. With this background he now can offer the same highly skilled approach to clients of OPSMC.
He is very experienced in assessing and managing all types of acute, difficult, chronic or complex injuries and particularly in those problems not responding to previous physiotherapy treatment. His specialist expertise will provide you with a physio management plan aimed at optimising the results of therapy, or advising the best alternative course of action. This would normally involve a one-hour appointment. For current clients, this can be done in consultation with the treating therapist. Alternatively, a one-off “second-opinion” can be arranged for difficult or chronic cases.
Henry will be available for consultation for both new and existing clients at OPSMC during the week, some evenings and on Saturdays.
A 1 hour consultation is offered for an initial assessment of complex cases. Specialist Physiotherapy Services attract a higher fee than regular services and normal private health rebates apply.
