Kate Cowlishaw graduated with Honours at the University of Melbourne in 1997. She spent two years working in rehabilitation in the public and private hospital sector before moving in to private practice.

In 2001 Kate started the clinical pilates program at OPSMC. She is an experienced teacher of clinical pilates programs for both rehabilitation purposes and cross training for sporting pursuits.

 

 

 

Kate’s clinical populations include low back pain and injury, postural neck and upper back pain, hip and pelvic pain and pre and post natal conditions. She has experience dealing with a wide range of sports but has a special interest in running, cycling and rowing.

  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy (Honours)
Involvement with Teams and Associations:
  • Involved with developing pre-season clinical pilates programs with Richmond and Collingwood AFL teams
  • Experience with Victorian Cricket team building clinical pilates programs for rehabilitation from injury
  • Team physiotherapist for Old Carey Amateur Football team 1995 - 1997
Professional Memberships:
  • Member of Australian Physiotherapy Association since 1997
Personal sporting experience:
  • Personal experience in Track and Field - Captain of Girls Athletics team - Carey Baptist Grammar School 1993
  • Competed for Box Hill Athletics club 1992 - 1994
  • Also participate in tennis and swimming
