Melanie Omizzolo has recently returned to work at OPSMC since having spent most of 2008 travelling as a Physiotherapist with the Women’s Tennis Association and undertaking post graduate study at The University of Melbourne. Melanie is currently completing her thesis to fulfil the requirements for a Doctorate in Clinical Physiotherapy. Her thesis describes her research into the use of the single leg squat as a measure of trunk stability.

Melanie is particularly interested in the shoulder, hip and knee joints, but takes pleasure in tackling any problem area! She is trained in Clinical Pilates, dry needling and the kinesio taping method and uses a combination of hands-on therapy and exercise in her treatment regime. She enjoys working with a full spectrum of clientele, from elite athletes to weekend warriors and all who have an interest in their physical health and general wellbeing.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy
  • Masters in Physiotherapy (Sports Physiotherapy)
Involvement with Teams and Associations:
  • Physiotherapist for the Box-Hill Hawks in the VFL 2002-2006
  • Primary Health Care Provider, Sony Ericsson WTA Tour at International Women’s Tennis events, including the Australian Open, Wimbledon and Roland Garros.
