OPSMC since 2006 Dr Neels du Toit achieved his primary medical qualification in 1997 from the University of the Freestate, South Africa. He then completed a diploma in Sports and Exercise Medicine from Bath University, UK. He worked as a Sports Physician registrar at the Brisbane Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Centre and joined Olympic Park Sports Medicine Centre in 2006. Neels completed his specialist Sports Physician fellowship from the Australasian College of Sports Physicians in 2008.
Neels has an interest in general sports medicine, back pain, and tendon pathology. He has done extensive research in the area of tendon neovascularity associated with tendinopathy.
