Physiotherapist B. Ex Sci M.Phty PhD OPSMC - Geelong Campus
Jason Bonacci graduated with a Bachelor of Exercise Science and then pursued his interest in physiotherapy by graduating with a Master of Physiotherapy Studies from the University of Queensland. He then completed his PhD at the University of Queensland in 2010.
Throughout his doctoral studies Jason was based in the Department of Physical Therapies at the Australian Institute of Sport, investigating the neuromechanics of multi-discipline training in both elite and recreational athletes.
He has a special clinical and research interest in lower limb biomechanics and running related injuries and has presented his research both nationally and internationally.
Jason has worked in private practice with athletes from all levels and uses his strong Exercise Science background to prescribe interventions for acute injuries and post-surgical rehabilitation through to the return to sport phase. He continues to combine his clinical and research interests and is a lecturer in the School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences at Deakin University.
Jason joins the Physiotherapy team at OPSMC's Geelong Campus
