After graduating in 2000, Melanie Omizzolo worked in private hospitals specialising in post-operative hip, knee, shoulder and ankle rehabilitation, before pursuing a career in Sports Physiotherapy. She undertook her Masters in Sports Physiotherapy and recently completed her Clinical Doctorate in Physiotherapy. Her thesis investigated the use of a single-leg-squat as a measure of trunk stability in elite female tennis players with and without low back pain.
Melanie has worked internationally in elite women's tennis since 2005 as a Primary Health Care Provider with WTA Tennis, including Grand Slams around the world.
She enjoys working with elite and recreational athletes across many sports, but also takes great pleasure in assisting those new to exercise. Her areas of clinical interest include the shoulder, spine, hip and knee joints. She is trained in the use of dry needling, kinesio taping and clinical pilates. Melanie combines these skills with manual therapy and exercise as part of her holistic approach to injury management and prevention.
