Tristan Shipsides graduated in 2001 and spent the following 9 years working in the largest UK teaching hospital where he worked in rehabilitation and respiratory before he transitioned into outpatients. During this time Tristan published in journals and presented at international conferences.

After that time, he decided to take a break from Physiotherapy to focus on his sporting career. Having won a number of UK age group competitions and coming 4th in the age group World Championships, Tristan transitioned to life as a sponsored professional triathlete.

After two years as a pro, Tristan returned to his career as a physiotherapist in private practice and as a triathlon coach. His experience and knowledge in triathlon has led to a professional focus in running, swimming and cycling injuries. He particularly specializes in treating shoulders for both acute and chronic conditions, as well as post-operatively.

Tristan believes in educating, rehabilitating and ultimately empowering athletes of all levels to achieve their goals. He believes in a hands on approach (including dry needling) with active involvement of the athlete. Combined with sport specific rehabilitation his primary aim is to optimise patient recovery and eliminate the risk of future injury.

Tristan is the newest addition to the team at OPSMC Geelong. He plans to undertake his Masters in Sports Physiotherapy and initiate a Bike Fitting and Video Analysis program at the Geelong clinic.
